Clinical Psychologist

A psychological/developmental evaluation completed by Dr. Laura will be tailored not only to your concerns but also to the underlying causes of your child's behavior. Prior to evaluation, Dr. Laura will provide a proposal for assessment, including an estimate of cost. Her fees are comparable to other Licensed Psychologists in the area. Following the evaluation, Dr. Laura will write a comprehensive report addressing your specific questions, identifying your child's strengths and needs, providing diagnoses and documenting recommendations. During a 75 minute feedback session, Dr. Laura will review her findings and recommendations as well as answer any remaining questions you may have. As an LSSP, Dr. Laura's evaluation may be helpful in seeking specialized services for your child at school.

What to Consider When Choosing a Professional

Choosing a professional to evaluate your child is a big decision. Not every evaluator is considered equal and not every professional can perform a psychological evaluation. Licensed clinical psychologists are specially trained to use tests and other assessment tools to understand your child's behavior, arrive at a diagnosis, and develop an effective treatment plan. An evaluation is not simply a clinical interview, but a purpose-driven, individualized

assessment examining possible underlying causes for a behaivor. Most behaviors have more than one possible underlying cause. A psychological/developmental evaluation is used to find out why a child behaves a certain way and match treatment appropriately.
